No matter what this year looks like, we invite you to create a little space for gratitude to settle in.
This year your Thanksgiving holiday likely looks a bit different than years before. There’s no doubt that this pandemic has brought challenges & limitations to many parts of our lives, holidays included- and it’s ok to be disappointed by that. We don’t have to pretend that this is easy. But we do get to choose how we show up for ourselves and our families today (and every other day).
Some people are far from loved ones, family members virtually celebrating together, some families are gathering outdoors and wearing masks, some staying home with immediate family, and some key workers will be working through the holiday.
There is so much going on that we cannot control. But we’d encourage you to honor the Thanksgiving Holiday by pausing + reflecting before letting the Christmas shopping frenzy take over. Before you clear the table and begin clean up from your feast (however small or large), take a minute to lock eyes with the people around you (or on your Zoom call or Facetime) and tell them what they mean to you. If this year has reminded us of anything, it’s that life is precious.
Let’s say the words we mean.
let’s not miss the gift of connection this year.
Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours.
Warmly,
The HYD Team
